James Pope "The Training Expert" RIP

 

James was involved in a fatal accident on Thursday 12th November 2009.

James will be sadly missed by his wife Mel, who was so very proud of him, his 12-year-old son James , his mother Barbara, brother and sisters Adam, Jane and Laura and their families, Margaret & Bob, parent in-laws, brother in law, Michael & Helen, his nieces and nephews, his cousins and extended family and all of his close friends and business contacts.

The news has been devastating to a large number of people in and outside of Merseyside as James had a strong commercial background after working with such companies such as Wrigleys, Coca Cola, Gillette, Vivalis to eventually setting up his own training business under Pope Sales Management Solutions, more widely known as “The Training Expert”.

James was extremely dynamic, with a personality and charm that everyone adored. He was the life and soul of everything in which he was involved. He had the spirit to touch all who he met and make him become whatever he chose to be, which was a giant of a man.

Here is a brief overview of James' Limelight...

 

Closing techniques bullets:

  • A large % of people NEVER ask for the business. All that selling of a product/service and then simply not asking for the sale is a common mistake to make.

  • Asking for the sale or “closing” is vital and can be achieved several different ways

  • 5 closing techniques are:
  • Confident close: Assume the business is already yours; “I put the admin in place” or “When would you like to start?”

  • Alternative close: Give a choice of two options; “Would you like to start on 7th or 14th?”

  • Concession close: Get the sale, but give a little of what they may see as being valuable; “If we can do 12 months, I can see if........”

  • Summary Close: Like the 10 o’clock news, wrap up everything that you have just said and
    agreed and then ask for the sale.

  • Fear close: More people of scared of missing out than they are of gaining something. When its gone its gone! Price is moving up or Promotion ends.

    Always make sure you close in order to guarantee you the business!
